So it's been awhile since I've updated my blog. Actually its been like 8 months. We have been super busy, with life that I haven't had hardly anytime for myself. Kaylin had her surgery in May. Surgery was very successful. We did have some complications after her surgery though. She was in a cast for 8 weeks, well it was supposed to be 8 weeks, but Kaylin had other plans. She pulled her cast off 6 weeks early! So her heal pad is a bit shifted on the bottom on her stumpy. But her doctor doesn't think it will be a problem right now. She received her prosthetic leg about 2 weeks ago. So far she hates it. We encourage her to wear it for a couple hours a day, but she still hasn't bonded with it yet. Actually, she is terrified of it. The moment we bring it out she starts screaming. I've been a little discouraged, but trying to give her the time she needs. I think she may feel that her prosthetic gets in the way of her being mobile. The reason why I feel this way is because she uses her stumpy to her advantage to get around. She can scoot across a room just as fast as I can walk. She will eventually understand it's purpose. But until then I feel like I am tourching her by making her wear it.
I also just recently quit my job of 8 years, to stay at home with my kids, and go back to school. We had been working 7 days a week for years now. It finally wore me out enough, to stay enough is enough. My kids need me more. Not only do I get to see my kids more and actually have more energy to interact with them, I have time for myself and my husband. :)
We also just recently had her 1st birthday party. I wanted to wait till she was completely healed from her surgery. We had all kinds of family come in town to celebrate my baby girl. It was a good time. Thankyou to everyone who was able to make it.
