Busy, Busy, Busy

So it's been awhile since I've updated my blog. Actually its been like 8 months. We have been super busy, with life that I haven't had hardly anytime for myself. Kaylin had her surgery in May. Surgery was very successful. We did have some complications after her surgery though. She was in a cast for 8 weeks, well it was supposed to be 8 weeks, but Kaylin had other plans. She pulled her cast off 6 weeks early! So her heal pad is a bit shifted on the bottom on her stumpy. But her doctor doesn't think it will be a problem right now. She received her prosthetic leg about 2 weeks ago. So far she hates it. We encourage her to wear it for a couple hours a day, but she still hasn't bonded with it yet. Actually, she is terrified of it. The moment we bring it out she starts screaming. I've been a little discouraged, but trying to give her the time she needs. I think she may feel that her prosthetic gets in the way of her being mobile. The reason why I feel this way is because she uses her stumpy to her advantage to get around. She can scoot across a room just as fast as I can walk. She will eventually understand it's purpose. But until then I feel like I am tourching her by making her wear it.

I also just recently quit my job of 8 years, to stay at home with my kids, and go back to school. We had been working 7 days a week for years now. It finally wore me out enough, to stay enough is enough. My kids need me more. Not only do I get to see my kids more and actually have more energy to interact with them, I have time for myself and my husband. :)

We also just recently had her 1st birthday party. I wanted to wait till she was completely healed from her surgery. We had all kinds of family come in town to celebrate my baby girl. It was a good time. Thankyou to everyone who was able to make it.

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!

God blessed me with so many wonderful experiences in 2012, can't wait to see what he has in store for us in 2013. Our family was blessed with a beautiful baby girl this year. Kaylin is growing so much everyday. I'm excited to bring on the new year. But also very nervous. Only 4 more months till Kaylin's surgery. I know deep down, she will be just fine. Afterall, she is a patient with some of the best pediatric surgeons. But sometimes I can't help to worry alittle. One of my good friends at work, got me to start watching Joyce Meyers. The first sermon of hers I watched was amazing. It was just what I needed to hear. She was talking about "Faith", and how we have faith everyday in our lives and just don't realize it.. For instance she said as a example.. she had a chair and sat in it.. "you have faith the chair is going to hold you weight.. and you trust it will."  I need to have faith in God that he will take care of our little girl, and stop worrying about it so much. He will help my husband and I make the right choices for Kaylin. If you would like to check out some of Joyce Meyers sermons, there are some on youtube.com, or check you cable for TBN channel.
